What’s on the Accuplacer Math Test?

The Accuplacer helps colleges place you into the right math course. It is untimed and computer-adaptive, so questions get harder or easier based on your answers.

There are three math tests. Arithmetic covers whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages. Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra & Statistics (QAS) covers ratios, proportions, linear equations, basic algebra, and statistics. Advanced Algebra & Functions (AAF) covers quadratics, functions, radicals, and trigonometry.

Each test has about 20 multiple-choice questions, and an on-screen calculator is available on certain questions. There is no penalty for wrong answers, so answer everything.

Scoring: each Accuplacer test is scored from 200 to 300. Your college sets the cut scores that determine your placement, so check your school’s requirements.
