Free SSAT Math Practice Test 2026 — Elementary, Middle & Upper Levels
Free SSAT Math Practice Test
Realistic, by-level practice for the SSAT Elementary, Middle, and Upper Levels — with worked answers, 4-week study plans, formulas, and free worksheets, from the team behind MathNotion’s SSAT prep books.
What’s on the SSAT Math Test?
The SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test), administered by the EMA, measures math through its Quantitative sections. The Elementary Level has one 30-question Quantitative section (30 minutes); the Middle and Upper Levels each have two Quantitative sections of 25 questions (30 minutes each). Calculators are not permitted on any level.
The SSAT has three levels by entering grade: Elementary (grades 3–4, applying to 4–5), Middle (grades 5–7, applying to 6–8), and Upper (grades 8–11, applying to 9–12). This page covers all three — choose yours in the tabs below.
Scoring differs by level. The Elementary Level gives 1 point per correct answer with no penalty (each section 300–600; total 900–1800). The Middle (each section 440–710) and Upper (each section 500–800) Levels use formula scoring: +1 for correct, −¼ for wrong, and 0 for blank — so guess only when you can eliminate a choice.
Content builds by level, from numbers, fractions, and basic geometry at the Elementary Level to algebra, functions, coordinate geometry, and probability at the Upper Level.
SSAT Math Practice Test by Level
Choose your level below. Each level includes its own overview, 4-week study plan, practice quiz, score-boosting tips, topic list, key formulas, and recommended resources — all grouped in one tab.
The Elementary Level is for students in grades 3–4. It has one Quantitative (math) section — 30 questions in 30 minutes. There is no penalty for wrong answers, so answer every question. It covers numbers and operations, basic fractions, geometry, measurement, and patterns.
