Free PERT Math Practice Test 2026 (With Answers & Solutions)
Free PERT Math Practice Test (With Answers & Step-by-Step Solutions)
Test your skills with 10 PERT-style math questions — each with a worked solution — then keep practicing with free worksheets and study books.
What’s on the PERT Math Test?
The PERT places Florida students into the right math course. It is untimed and computer-adaptive, and a calculator is not permitted, so be ready to compute by hand.
The math section is heavily algebra-based. Expect to: solve linear equations and inequalities, simplify and evaluate algebraic expressions, factor and solve quadratics, work with polynomials and rational expressions, and handle coordinate geometry (slope and lines) and basic functions.
There are 30 multiple-choice questions, and there is no penalty for wrong answers, so answer every one.
Scoring: the PERT math score ranges from 50 to 150. Many Florida colleges require roughly 114 or higher for college-level math placement — check your school’s exact cut score.

PERT Math Formulas You Should Know
- Slope: m = (y₂ − y₁) ÷ (x₂ − x₁).
- Slope-intercept: y = mx + b.
- Quadratic formula: x = (−b ± √(b² − 4ac)) ÷ 2a.
- Difference of squares: a² − b² = (a − b)(a + b).
- Exponent rules: xᵃ·xᵇ = xᵃ⁺ᵇ; (xᵃ)ᵇ = xᵃᵇ.
- FOIL: (a + b)(c + d) = ac + ad + bc + bd.
Tips to Pass the PERT
- No calculator — practice arithmetic and algebra by hand.
- It’s untimed — read carefully and check your work.
- Focus on algebra — it’s the bulk of the test.
- Know your school’s cut score for college-level placement.
